Saffron milk cap seedlings are back!

Mycotree partners with Southern Woods Nursery

Mycotree will partner with Southern Woods Nursery to produce saffron milk cap (Lactarius deliciosus) seedlings on Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), Stone pine (P. pinea), Maritime pine (P. pinaster) or Monterey pine (P. radiata).

Note about Scots Pine: Because of current Canterbury regulations on wilding pines, the propagation and plantation of Scots pine is possible only when following specific rules that were set under an exemption for cultivating saffron milk caps. Please consult the rules here.

Customers from other regions where Scots pines are declared a pest will need to seek and obtain a similar exemption from their regional authority.

We will start inoculating in spring 2021 with the first seedlings becoming available from early spring 2022.

Please contact us or place an order if you are interested, specifying the pine species and the number of seedlings for each pine species.
